Hi,
I would like to install a php program in one primary ibay.but it says I need to apply 666 or 777 rights to some files.so I connect to the ibay using ftp and try chmod command.but it tells me "permission denied". it won't allow me to apply the access right changes. what is wrong? is there a way to do this by going to the sme server pc itself?how do I get to the ibay files?thanks.

Pretty easy...do a google search for Putty

It's a simple .exe file that lets you secure connect to your e-smith box

log in with root and your admin password

if you type mc...you'll launch Midnight Commander...just a pretty interface.

Navigate to the ibay /home/e-smith/files/ibays/YOUR IBAY/HTML

Highlight the folders you need to change permission and go to the file menu and choose CHMOD

you can change the priv's from there.

Hope that helps.
