can't access e-mails - where can I find more information
« on: December 30, 2004, 01:40:55 PM »
I haven't received e-mails in days. I check for e-mail via pop3 and through the webbased email interface and I cleared out all the e-mails so that it is empty now for the user "joe".

Server manager user quota reports the user "joe" still has a current usage of 33.30 MB. It also reports another user, "peter" as having 69.09 MB.

The past month I recieve messages a very long time after they are actually sent so they appear to be sitting on the server with a very long qtime. How do check and/or change the qtime and how do I see what's in the qmail mail que and where can I find the commands to work with it?

Yeah, sounds like we're having the same problem.. It's almost as though my messages were deleted, except they're still on the server. I can see them if I use pine to look at my messages, but not if I use my webmail or thunderbird.. When I get a new message in, I can view it for a few mins then it vanishes off in to the void where only pine seems to be able to go.. Weird man.. Weird..

More on that note..

I've discovered what seems to have been causing the apparent deletion of my messages. It turns out the culprit was pine on some workstation. I don't know what it is about that one, but when I keep the workstation off, all my messages remain. I'm sure it's just downloading them to itself. Probably a minor configuration thing. I haven't tried to figure that one out yet.

Anyway, good luck..

fyi, the problem I had back then was the dynamic dns provider was being ddos attacked or something so the problem was on their end.

I need to pay for their services because my isp blocks port 25.
