Joining NT 4 Domain with SME 6.0 Server-Only
« on: February 25, 2005, 09:37:43 AM »
Hi friends,

I’m working in a MS hell house, but have pushed to get a SME server with CUPS to do the dirty work of making PDF. Works great, but here is my new challenge:

I need SME go get the users login and passwords from the NT 4 Domain controller due to sync of passwords ect.

How do I get my SME 6.0 Server-Only to join this domain and accept users to print on it?

I have searched the forums, but can’t find a solution for this.

I'm not sure if the howto linked from this thread will work.. but it might get you going in the right direction.

You also may want to take at look at the documentation at samba's website

Thanks,

Greg Zartman's howto http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/smeserver/contribs/gzartman/HowToGuides/SME_DomainClientHowto.htm worked like a charm.

Could be nice I this was integrated in the server-manager site. I really can’t be the only one trying to add a SME server to an existing IT infrastructure with Windows PDC.
