This is a stupid question, but whatever happened to Lycors.  I thought they were going to do something.

BTW, a social contract is a great idea.  Look toward those great people at Debian for guidance!!!!

So does this mean that SME Server will remain free and supported by the contribs.org community?

If so, that sounds good, I'm reinstalling my SME Server, I did try the 6.5 beta 1 and the improvements looked good, although I did have a few probems with the mail retrieval contribs, so for now I'm going to reinstall the server with 6.0.1.

Good work so far, before I discovered SME server I was going to install NT Server 4.0 on my network.  My SME server has been happily running for a year with no major problems, the only reason I'm reinstalling it is for a spring clean, hardware upgrade and a bigger hard drive.

Positive change for the community?  :-?

What has changed?

The last news article on the front page is dated 05/03/2005 (Aussie Date) and we are now nearing 2 months since this last update.

The developers themselves are doing a great job and I commend them for there efforts, but this website (read community), apart from the forums has become stagnent.

Ruffdogs was championing this process, but where is the champion now?

It is all happening. Many people are making the changes required to move forward. Ruffdog - contrib mailing list indecates things are moving fast now. Couple more weeks and i am sure they will have it all working as it should. Good effort from all involved.
