Is anybody having success with zsync?
If so, what commands are you using.

William,

first you should rename your old file smeserver-alpha24.iso to the new file smeserver-alpha25.iso.
Then you can zsync it with one of the mirrors, f.e.
zsync http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/releases/7/iso/smeserver-7.0alpha25.iso.zsync

hope this helps

Rgds.

Dietmar

The best method is to install a CentOS 4.1 development machine. However, you probably won't need the development tools, as there are RPMs for Asterisk available if you seach the net.

How do U guys install SME7alpha(25) in Vmware 5 on Linux?

I've tried SME7alpha(25) as well as SME7alpha(24) on two different machines, but I'm getting the message that says:

"no valid devices were found on which to create new file systems"

I'm keen on doing some testing on it, but how should I proceed?

You need to change the hard drive type from scsi to IDE.

Thanks mate!

It's being installed as I write this....

Just curious though: Why doesn't it install on SCSI disks?

CentOS / RHEL 4.X did away with alot of legacy scsi devices.  Most new hardware runs on newer scsi, ATA133, or SATA.

Hello!

Please don't take this post as a veiled request for fundamental changes at a late date - it's really and genuinely a request for information!

When building servers for clients who for one reason or another don't wish to use SME, I usually use Exim as the MTA.  I've found it very flexible, stable, and easy to configure - much more so than Qmail or Postfix.  Is there any particular reason for not choosing Exim as the MTA?

Regards,

Dave
