I have a dell sc 1420 that has 2 sata drives, that I'm going to try and install sme 7 final on when it gets released.

I might try to install centos 4.1 first, to see if everything will be compatible.

I'm still playing with sme 7 beta, looks good so far though. I like the installation much better.

I have problems updating my iso using zsync. I used zsync for updates in alpha stage. But now, it does not go to end for beta :
Code: [Select]

[eric@mypc sme]$ zsync http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/releases/7/iso/smeserver-7.0beta2.iso.zsync
#################### 100.0% 0.0 kBps DONE

reading seed file smeserver-7.0beta2.iso: *************************************************************************************
*************************************************************************************
*************************************************************************************
*************************************************************************************
*************************************************************************************
*************
Read smeserver-7.0beta2.iso. Target 85.8% complete.
downloading from http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/releases/7/iso/smeserver-7.0beta2.iso:
#################--- 85.8%bad status code 302
#################--- 85.8% 0.0 kBps aborted

failed to retrieve from smeserver-7.0beta2.iso
Aborting, download available in smeserver-7.0beta2.iso.part
verifying download...[eric@mypc sme]$

What's wrong?

I first tried alpha26->beta1 and the above messages are for alpha26->beta2.

I have had similar issues with zsync and planetmirror. I'll take it up with their support folks. Rsync works.

Code: [Select]
rsync --stats --partial --progress rsync://rsync.planetmirror.com/smeserver/releases/7/iso/smeserver.iso  .

Please ensure that you have a "seed" file called smeserver.iso before you run this.

Ibiblio gives a 301 error, planetmirror gives a 302 error.  Both of these are redirect codes.  It appears that zsync doesn't handle the redirect codes very well. It works fine against contribs as there isn't a redirect from there.

@Shad, YFYI, the European mirrors are not being updated, beta1 still did not make it to those mirrors.

Tried to install the beta 2 version on

Asus Dual xeon mainboard
2gig ram
dual 3.0 xeon
80gig sata drive single
DVd burner
Floppy

I Get to the media check and fails.
Re downloaded the iso and tried again with the same result.

Tried to install the older Alpha release to test hardware and the install worked a treat.

Tried to log into SF to log it as a bug and login failed.

Sorry charlie i tried to log SF i will keep trying.

I downloaded and installed SME 7 Beta 1 and have one problem.

Please report all 7.0 problems to the bug tracker at sourceforge (and nowhere else, please):

Thanks

Hi,

I just upgraded 6.5rc1 to 7beta2 this morning and the installation has no problem at all. Will be testing it more.

Thanks contribs for the great work.

I just did an install on an unmodified 6.5rc1 which worked fine.

In the next days i will be testing it with some contribs (clamav, spamassassin, mrtg, etc)

OK, I see
I'll hold my horses for a while.
Perhaps I was too quick off the mark, putting 6.5rc1 into production.
Don't want to repeat that mistake !
