Just curious, is there a list somewhere of all the updates/changes planned for first release of version 7?

Here you can see all the changes up to Alpha 20
http://wellsi.com/sme/info/smereleases-rpms.html

I don't think that there is any better list of what will be 'SME7.0' certainly there will be more changes.

Couple of Questions
« Reply #121 on: June 21, 2005, 09:52:22 AM »
I'm giving Alpha20 the test and had a few questions. Anyone that knows please chime on in.

1) I noticed that the spamassassin config doesn't include the ability to add whitelists or blacklists. As knuddi's contribution did. Will that be part of the eventual config?

2) I've run a few firewall scans and even with all the various services turned off I'm still getting the following open ports: Ident (113), and URD (465). I know ident can be a pain to block.

I know about the bug tracking list, but I didn't want to post there in case I was jumping the gun.

This is a default install, no changes or mods (yet).

Other than these little things, it runs great!! Good job!

The policy is that packages are only updated beyond that provided by the upstream vendor if there is a compelling reason to do so. In this case, there isn't.

too right Charlie - "if it aint broke dont fix it"
(there's enough hassle with what needs to change)

I just added two mirrors to that page (the only ones that actually have a21 already at this moment):

It's on ibiblio now !

For general info to download using rsync do:

Copy earlier version of iso to a folder
cd to that folder
run this command (all on one line including the dot at the end)

rsync --recursive --verbose --archive --partial --progress rsync://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/e-smith/devel/isos/smeserver.iso .
...

For this ISO rsync is of marginal benefit "speedup is 1.04" but it is normally a lot better.

SME 7 Alpha 21 Changelog and RPM List have been updated in the wiki.

As usual these are available from the Development and Upcoming Releases  pages.

As the Changelog is so large for this release, the following table may be easier to digest.

It seems that there is a confusion between alpha 20, 21 and 22 on this page. And link to alpha21 is not ok.

Sorry - I'll update it later today as I cannot do it from here. Thank you for the feedback.
*** I have now corrected this ***

The first column is Alpha 20, 2nd column Alpha 21

The headings and links are not yet auto-generated, but will be soon to avoid these problems.

The actual table is accurate.

It would be more useful if you did so.

Regarding abt Bugs item #1222197(horde) im not sure if 0.21 mean a21(see below) . but if 0.21 mean a21. i have to d/l a21 iso again to fix the webmail? i can do that but the problem is my server is far away from where im staying.. is there any package that can fix only the Bugs #1222197 without d/l the ISO?

Any clues?
