I have primary domain primary.lt and have virtual server with domain secondary.lt
I want to create emails someuser@secondary.lt, but when I add user, it creats someuser@primary.lt. I cant find anywhere where to choose anoher domain on server-manager panel. How to do this? Thanks.

Answered at least twice in these forums in the last couple of weeks, learn to read and learn to search on virtual domain, email alias, mailblocking.

A quick question, if you know for a fact that it has been answered at least twice why not post a link to the solution?

I can see your point, it's no fun answering the same questions over and over but I think a more helpful approach would have been to give a solution or post to somewhere where the solution can be learned.

By far, this is the most unhelpful forum I've been a member of with answers like "search the forum" and "RTFM". I find this really detrimental to a great peice of work that is "supposed" to be community supported.

Flame away,

Arthur

Well . . in principle you're right, Arthur.
But you probably haven't seen the enduring patience with which Ray has answered literaly dozens of questions in this direction during the past month or so.
Since he is himself the author of an excellent and easy-to-find howto, you might have some appreciation of his waning patience, so to speak.
Anyway, here is a link for Adolfas: http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/rmitchell/smeserver/howto/virtual%20domain%20email%20aliases%20HOWTO%20for%20sme%20server.htm
A simple search for 'email alias' would have provided several hits pointing in this direction, as stated by Ray.
Don't judge people prematurely, right ?

PS! If you really mean that this forum is unhelpful, generally speaking, then I feel sorry for you.
Greetings
wyron

And Arthur was silenced :-(

My apologies to Ray but this was not directed at him, I have just been frustrated by the amount of negative posts that I have found on this forum.

I am also a member of the Vector Linux forum and they have a "No RTFM" policy and help as much as they can as much of the time, regardless of wether it has been answered before.

I have just picked up SME Server and hopefully will be at a level soon where I too can contribute back to the community.

My apologies again to Ray and also to you wyron

Maybe I was a bit hasty in saying that this forum was unhelpful and thanks for not being mean.

I have read your latest posts "arthur was silenced" etc so no worries.

For the record and for the benefit of other readers who do not appreciate the search tool:
I told you EXACTLY what to do to find the information you were after, without giving the final answer directly to you. I'm allowed to give whatever level of help I see fit, no one pays me to do this and no one should have any particular expectation.

If you had read these forums even for the last weeek or so you would already have seen the answer, that's why I suggested to learn to read the forums and to learn to search.

I think the MOST HELPFUL solution was in fact to draw your attention to the search tool and "forcibly" demonstrate to you how relatively easy it is to find what you are after.

It (search) has been drummed into me by the sme "masters" and the lessons are finally sticking & hopefully being conveyed to others in as nice a way as I possibly can.

The whole concept of RTFM answers is also to empower the poster to get of their butt and look for themselves, particularly when it's clear to more experienced readers that if the poster had in fact read the manual then they would have found the answer.

So is it "right" to keep answering questions for which the answer already exists ? ... or would other users time be better spent answering questions or helping to resolve issues where there is no clear answer yet available ?
I'm sure everybody who posts here has limited time to do so.

I can't help quoting Charlie Brady's recent one liner which I think is superb,

"Google is your friend, he knows more than me and works 24 hours a day"

Extend that to include contribs.org search as well.

And to put it another way, "Teaching children to swim is the best way to stop them drowning"

Thanks for your forgiveness kind sir ;-)

May I just apologise to all that I may have offended in my thoughtless outburst.

May I hang my head in shame
