DNS Problem. Need help!
« on: June 23, 2005, 12:48:58 PM »
I have installed an SME box running as firewall/gateway. I have also windows 2003 acting as IIS server and DNS in my internal network. Now i want my SME server recognize my Windows 2003 DNS server because my SME server also acting as DNS server itself. I dunno where to configure it because i did not find any option in server-manager. Anyone, can help or suggest on what to do ? I needed it badly. Thnx!

On your Windows DNS box, make sure that you have the correct IP address of your SME box as the gateway.

On your SME box, why do you want it to redirect back to the Windows box? It is sitting between you and the world, it should resolve external address for itself and if your Windows box is correctly configured, the Windows box should resolve External and Internal address on your network.  If you change the SME box to be in Server mode, then you will need to configure the correct DNS and Gateway IP Addresses.
