Hello,
I made an HowTo based on the excellent Howto of Swerts Knudsen, to implement OpenVPN on bridge configuration (cf
http://openvpn.net/faq.html#bridge1
)
You will find The Howto at
ftp://ftp.firewall-services.com/OpenVPN/HowtoOpenVPN.pdf
I am waiting for your comments

After installing openVPN I lost all contact with my 6.5 gateway & server.
I guess my mistake was with the ip addressing.
can someone help me?
my network is as follows
WAN IP 172.19.3.1 mask 255.255.0.0
EXTERNAL IP 172.19.3.2 mask 255.255.0.0
INTERNAL IP 10.0.0.200 mask 255.255.255.0
LAN RANGE IP 10.0.0.10 TO 199 mask 255.255.255.0
vpn lan range 10.0.1.100 to 120 mask 255.255.255.0
don't really know why it failed.

What method did you want to use, bridging or routing, because if you want to use the bridging method, you'll have to choose a vpn lan range in your lan range, outside the dhcp range.
In your case, 10.0.0.200/24 to 10.0.0.255/24

That's one of the things I don't know, Bridging' or Routing'(????)
I have been supplied with a router by my ISP.
I was initially running a 'server-only' mode but I was unable to set the router up as my previous draytek router.
Now I am trying to have a 'server&gateway' box with a dumb router.
My router has a dedicated connection with the dhcp, firewall and security all OFF.
So now my question is:
do I bridge or route my system?
and then, how can I get the openVPN to work?

Does anyone have a sme server-to-server bridge running? I am interested, and may try in a couple of weeks. I have a couple of customers that I could attempt this with and would like any heads up before I start. I saw from Knuddi how to set up the server, just need to play with the "client" SME server configuration.
Thanks
Bob
