Multi-point (SME server to SME server) VPN in v6.x
« on: September 15, 2005, 04:11:22 PM »
I apologise if this has already been addressed in the forums - I have searched but cannot find an answer to my question.

I am also something of a *nix newbie but I am learning a lot through running SME server.

I have v6.5 (although it says 6.6 at boot up?) and I am trying to establish a persistant VPN tunnel between two SME boxes over t'internet.

I found a how to in the E-Smith SME Server How To pdf
- http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/E-Smith_HowTo
-pages 14 and 15, a simple step by step explanation for achieving this on v5.x and I thought I would give it a go.

It has sort of worked.

During the installation I received an error -

error: execution of %post scriptlet from dmc-mitel-freeswan-0.4-12 failed, exit status 1

- but the server manager panel and everything seemed OK.

The problem I have is that there is no public encryption key when I try to view it in server manager ... thus I am rather stuck on instruction 9 of the How To :/

If anyone has any input on this, or knows of any other way of achieving what I would like to do then I would be extremely grateful.

Many thanks.

/edit/ This seems to be much the same method but with slightly more detail - I have the same problems with this.
