I cannot seem to connect to SME 7 RC1 using pop3s in outlook 2003.  Outlook gives me the following message:

Find incoming mail server (POP3): Outlook could not connect to the incoming mail server (POP3).  The problem could be the server name or port, or your server may not support SSL.  Verify your port and SSL settings in More Settings under the Advanced tab.

I have Use SSL on port 995 selected in outlook and I have my router configured to pass tcp port 995 to my sme server and I have allow access from outside networks enabled.  I can get IMAP4S to work no problem using the same methods and clients.  

Yes, I have already looked through the manual but it only talks about regular pop access (which I don't even think is an option), but it says nothing about pop3s.

And yes, I do have a reason for using pop over imap.  :)

Any help would be appreciated.

As an update, I have since the above message put the SME 7 box on the outside of the network running as a public server/gateway so as to take the d-link router out of the equasion.  I have also tried using Thunderbird set to use port 995 in SSL mode but it says it can't connect and that it times out.  Don't know what else to do here.

Do you have an active personal firewall on your client?
Try to disable this for a test and adapt the settings, if this was the culprit.

I suppose I should have put that in the description too.  Not there is no firewalls in place.  And again, IMAPS seems to work fine.

Have a look at this thread ... it's pop3s service not starting thats causing your problem.
