Configuring horde sent-mail foler
« on: April 23, 2006, 08:57:11 PM »
My mail client (Thunderbird) uses the ' Sent'  folder to store sent mail, but the webmail configuration on my server uses the 'sent-mail'  folder.

Does someone know how to change the configured folder in hordewebmail to be Sent instead of sent-mail?

I know I can change it there but I want all users to be forced to have the sent mail stored in the Sent folder.

I already found how I can configure this, by adjusting the Default identity settings when I am logged in to the webmail interface.

To configure your default Sent mail folder:

[list=1]
  • Choose Options
  • Choose Mail form the Edit options for drop-down list
  • Choose Default Identity from the Select the identity you want to change drop-down list
  • Scroll to the bottom and select the preferred Sent mail folder from the Sent mail folder drop-down list.[/list:o]

    I have not been able to confirm if this also applies for all other accounts that are created and will be created. As soon as I know more I will post my findings.

I think you'll find that Thunderbird is using a local folder called Sent. There's no way that imp/horde can save to a folder which is local to your workstation.

Unless you use IMAP which I forgot to mention... my fault!
