Webmail send problem solved!!

This has been a problem of mine for months and see others have had the same problem so I'd like to share my situation and solution. I have an e-smith server that would not send Webmail. Everything else worked fine. This problem existed with different ISPs, version 4.1.1, 4.1.2, and 5.0.x. Here is the situation:

My domain name is RN-computing.com. I have a pop mailbox hold all my mail and have e-smith set up for multidrop mail. Naming my e-smith box rn-computing.com caused my pop box to lock up when checked so I changed my e-smith box to rn-computing.local. Everything but Webmail worked.

I found I had to go into the prefences tab in Webmail and enter my "dot.com" email address. Without that entry, my mail was being sent by my "dot.local" address and since it isn't a legal internet address, it was never delivered. Mail wasn't delivered or returned.

Programs like Outlook and Netscape mail kind of walk you through the "what is your email" question so those clients all worked and it appeared to be a Webmail problem.

Drop me an email if this made your life easier. It sure was frustrating for me.
