Updating Clam AV

Does anyone know where there are binaries to update Clamd to 0.88.4. Found a few RPMs but (Fedora4 as suggested) fails dependencies with a conflict. Failing to find binaries is there a procedure to install from source available. I am not a wizz with Linux.

Log in as root and run.

yum update clamav

If you just need to update the virus db, run

freshclam

For more info, look under Red Hat at

No, do not do that. freshclam is already running.

No, do not do that. clamav rpms are already built by the sme server devel team (usually me). clamav.net do not list any RPMs for RHEL4 or CentOS4.

I'm curious.  You didn't mention why wait?  Will a yum update damage SME?

A month or so ago many of us had problems with clamav updating.  The above worked just fine to solve the problem and get rid of the error emails.

Thanks

If you read Charlie's post he says why...because clamav.net do not list any RPMs for RHEL4 or CentOS4

Do you have the SME updates-testing directory enabled? as the latest (then) was available.

Same as above, if you rpm -qi clamav it will tell you the version please report if you can?
