Hi, in my spare time I work for a Volunteer Centre that runs off a SME server (I do all their computor related stuff). About 3 weeks ago I thought I'd be brave and update their sever which was still runnig of SME 6. Now being a newbie to lynux and never even touched a server before it took me some time to pluck up the courage to do it.
I did double backups, just in case something goes wrong, it usually does with other operating systems. I put the disk in and did a upgrade.
WOW! not one warning, not one hickup or anything. It was smooth sailing all the way through. It's absolutely amazing!
There was one little thing about the software installer. it showed me a lot of updates and the following day they were all gone with only one update available but i get a lot of errors if I try to install that but that has to be something minor and I'll have a good read through the posts to see if I can find a solution.
This forum is awesome and everyone here is a great help
Thanks! you all made my year so far!
