SAIL IVR Menu problems in server only mode
« on: March 04, 2007, 07:04:49 AM »
Hi All,

I have run yum update tonight and have had a nightmare since  I can't get internet access in server and gateway mode and the NIC's keep getting reversed, see here:

http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=35910.0

Even in server-only mode they change around when I reboot  Anyhow I am now in server only mode using a Linksys router to access the internet etc. I have forwarded all the ports I think I need and I am now struggling with my IVR menus on SAIL and I can't figure out why they have stopped working :?  If I dial in to SAIL PBX using my cell phone I get the message with all the options but no matter what option I choose it goes nowhere  It just times out as per the setting in the IVR menu. I used to be able to call and dial an ext number anytime during the message and it would ring :D  But now that doesn't work either.  If I set the trunk to an ext instead of the IVR menu it rings in OK :D So it would seem that the tones are not being passed through, I assume this as when I dial an ext number the message just carries on playing   Could there be some port(s) that need forwarding? Any help is appreciated.

Hello Del,

Which ports have you opened and forwarded?

Hi Selintra,

I have forwarded the following ports:
Quote
80 UDP/TCP
25 UDP/TCP
22 UDP/TCP
443 UDP/TCP
5060 UDP
4569 UDP
5036 UDP
2727 UDP
10000 - 20000 UDP
I hope you can help with this, although I really need help with the main problem after the updates so I can use server/gateway mode like I have for the last 6 six years   Thanks.

Regards
Del

Have you set your external IP address correctly in Globals?

Hi Selintra,

Thanks, for the reply :D  That seems to be the problem  No external IP address was entered  I am so use to server/gateway and this is first time I have run my main server in server only mode  Just a couple of questions, does this have to be a 68.xxx.xx.xxx entry or can it be a url like mydomain.com? Second question does this mean I will have to abandon my attempts at creating a sibling with my UK buddy? At least until I can get my server back into server/gateway mode. Thanks again.

Regards,
Del

Code: [Select]
does this have to be a 68.xxx.xx.xxx entry

Pretty sure it has to be an ip and not a uri.

Code: [Select]
does this mean I will have to abandon my attempts at creating a sibling with my UK buddy?

Nope, siblings will work just fine provided 4569UDP is open and forwarded in both firewalls (yours and your buddy's).
