In either sernerio I get the login screen, enter my username and password. If I enter the correct username/password

Username is admin and does the password have any special characters?
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

The admin ... admin to log into the console doesn't have any special charecters.

The admin user to login to the server-manager does ... a "$".

Thanks

bpivk,

Thanks for all your help. Now at least I can get into the server-manager.

I believe in the past I used to log into the server-manger with my regular user name and password. My username was set up for the admingroup.

Now, only the admin and password gets me into server-manager. Is the normal now? I added a new user and added the user to the admingroup and the new user can't log into server-manager.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for all your assistance. I'm not sure what occured, but at least I can get into the server manager.

Thanks

bpivk,

thanks for all your help. I just checked the user guide only the admin can access server-manager. I know I was trying both my username and admin user name in the past and it wasn't allowing me to get it. I don't go in there often, because I don't need to.

Thank you again for all the replies.

Well that's why i asked you if you tryed to log in as admin. Because it doesn't matter if you set a user to have shell access the only user that can use server manager is admin.
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!
