Help
I have an sme server in server mode only.
I have running pop3 pop3s imap all running on private and public.

I have thunderbird setup to use 25 and 110 standard ports.

when i connect to the server to retrieve my mail via 110 sometimes it allows me in, Other times it comes up with connection refused.

I have tried looking at the pop3 logs and have not been able to make much sense of them.

Where do i start to find out why my pop3 server is randomily refusing my connection?

TIA

Well it should refuse your pop3 connection because you're trying to check your mail from another location (you can use pop3s for wan not pop3).
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

No This happens when im connected to the network the server is on?
Is there a setting anywhere that refuses multiple connections say in a period of time and just shuts the port down?

Not if pop3 is set to public, as is claimed.

Make sure it is not a client issue by trying another client(s). You could use the console command line and telnet to check what your server is responding with during port 110 connection attempts. There are a lot of port and email test utilities available via a Google search.

I am having the same problem but the connection is always refused in Serveronly mode. But in Server / Gateway mode everything works fine. Ive tried several clients but no luck. Webmail works fine and port 110,25,143,443,995 are forwarded in my router. I cant use the SME server in Server/Gateway mode because my router always freeses up several times a day when Sme is in server/gateway mode  (zyxel 660HW router)                So any suggestions???
