MYSQL Problems and Removal

Well you have to remove mysql first but i don't know how many other rpm's you'll remove in the process (BTW: yum remove is the proper command and then use yum install).

You should describe your problem and what you did to your server so that your mysql doesn't work.
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

This could be a problem with cookies in your browser (had the same problem with joomla).

Browse with internet explorer and check the bottom right corner for a red eye. If you see one click on it (right click) and set the page to allowed and then refresh the page and try to log in again.

Did you try with signal-event post-upgrade and signal-event reboot? This should revert some changes.

What does "config show mysqld" show?
Did you check the output of /var/log/mysqld/current?
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

a+rwx to /tmp and then I could get Health and Catalogs to work fine with MySQL
Administrator. This was an easier solution (for me) than rejiggering the tmp dir
environment variables.

Your mySQL is version 5.

Did you upgrade this at some stage ?

Do you have the centosplus repo enabled?

Sorry, my first reply was a little cryptic.
