Topic: server sizing and e-mail limits

I've been so impressed with the first sme server I just finished setting up for testing.  Imagine, me becoming a linux convert....

I'm curious about opinions on hardware sizing.  2 to 5 users, broadband connectivity, qmail, file server, print server (2 printers).....I'm hoping to get it done with a P3 750, 60GB HD and 128MB Ram.  Opinions?

Also - Thus far I have been unable to find specifics on message and attachment limitations for qmail clients.  How big can a file attachment be by default.  What are the default settings on a generic install and where can I change them if necessary.

Lastly - I'm struggling with the posts that I have found thus far regarding ftp uploads.  I can't seem to make it happen.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've used a Pent 100/4.5G/64M RAM on a slightly larger system, works OK Also used P133/2.5G/32M RAM with 8 users also OK. PII 233/40G/128M RAM runs very nicely and a Cel 500/40G/128M RAM/RAID1 also runs very nicely. Not really much speed difference between these systems. If you use Webmail the faster processor is better, and it seems like 64Mb is a more practical minimum RAM.
Your hardware spec sounds good. Depends on your needs.

There was a lot of posts re ftp uploads early-mid 2001 in these forums, so do a search here.
You can upload to users ftp home folders quite OK without needing any command line intervention, ftp ibays are not so easy, but can have potential security issues.
