EMAIL SERVER - MAIL Retrieval and Email WBL
« on: January 20, 2008, 06:30:40 AM »
Hi everyone,

Now I have a clean install v7.3 and I'm running e-smith only server

After my instalation I went to the MAIN VIEW using (https://server_name/server-manager) and
I can not see anymore this options. MAIL Retrieval and Email WBL.

I am not sure what I need to do to put my email server to running!

Thanks in advance

When I ping (mail.domain) from another computer it is Ok

I also opended the emails IMAP port (465 and 993) in the Router but

when I used an email program (thunderbird) I only have this... (Connection to server <IP> timed out)

Thanks again

You have to forward port 465 (secure smtp) and port 993(secure imap) from the router to the ip of SME.
Also make sure that in server-manager under "E-mail settings', you have secure imap and ssmtp enabled.

Email WBL is a contrib (not installed by default in SME), you can find it here:
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/dmay/smeserver/7.x/testing/smeserver-wbl/smeserver-wbl-0.0.1-a8.dmay.noarch.rpm

MAIL Retrieval - do you mean 'E-mail retrieval mode' under 'Configuration/Email'?

many thanks jonic,

In fact I already did this, (forward port 465 (secure smtp) and port 993(secure imap) from the router to the ip of SME).

In also made the download to the file for Email WBL, but sorry, It is the first time a use the SME Server, (but i already read all the documentation to install and to configurate the SME server  :( )
how to update this file in to the SME Server ?

MAIL Retrieval: Sorry, The 'E-mail retrieval mode' can be 'under' Configuration/Email' but usually can see this option (MAIL Retrieval) as a main option when I use the website to access the SME SERVER.

like in, Collaboration
Users
Groups
Quotas
Pseudonumyms
information Bays
Mail retrieval (missing)

Many thanks !!!

For the Mail Retrieval you need to install the Fetchmail contrib. http://wiki.contribs.org/Fetchmail
That's the one that collects your mail from your ISp mailboxes

Cheers

Moving this topic to the SME 7.x contribs forum, it is more appropriate there. Thanks!
