Topic: Users missing in server manager after restore (Solved)

I have done a restore using a backup from V6 to new install  V7.3.
I did a post restore.
I have restored the following

etc/ssh
etc/sudoers
etc/passwd
etc/shadow
etc/group
etc/gshadow
etc/samba/secrets.tdb
etc/samba/smbpasswd
etc/smbpasswd
home/e-smith/files/users
home/e-smith/files/samba/profiles
Post upgrade...Reboot..

I haven't restored /etc/e-smith/templates-custom,  /etc/e-smith/templates-user-custom, or root

as I want the new server as clean as possible. (is this causing my problem)

Now: samba shares, passwords, webmail all work fine for users
But the server managers says their is no users it just shows admin (default user). and no groups.

What have I missed? What does the server panel look to for users and groups information.
Is their another command to run?

I think you are missing /home/e-smith/db as this contains the internal configuration database, holding user information as well as configuration information. For the user information you need at least the /home/e-smith/db/accounts

You should have restored all of /home/e-smith. And you should also do "signal-event pre-restore" before performing the restore.
