Hi all,

I am having an issue with LAT with regards to adding users. This is in a school environment and I have already used it to enter two grades so far. However, upon trying to enter the 3rd set of users, when applying the command:

lat-users -a -i 7thGradeImport.txt

I get the error:

Creating user account for bridgke (Uid:5212).
An error occurred while creating account 'bridgke'.

The format of my input file follows the LAT usage:
bridgke|XXXXXX|XXXXX|XXXXXX|||||||||grade7|students

I also have done the same thing successfully on my PDC.

I have checked the db accounts and it will add the account in, but apparently dies at the password portion because if I enter the admin section and check users, the account that died is added and waiting for a password. I also checked to see if the GID/UID it is assigning is possibly being used and it is not.

Any ideas? I am about to remove all the accounts I added via LAT and try again, but figured I would toss it up to the legions of knowledge before I did.

I found it....it seems one of the usernames contained the dread apostrophe. It caused a hiccup in the accounts db. Once I removed that instance, it seems to be moving along swimmingly now.

Lesson learned....triple check the input file given to me
