[ALERT] -- Several languages will be removed from the SME server!

As you read, some languages will be removed from SME if not finish the translation work. It's a real shame to have so much time working to achieve an effective management system of languages online, and do not see progress in the use of it.

Some languages have very little work to be completed and others are 100% uncomplete. The ironic is that these languages were added by requests at the bug tracker!

The languages which will be removed if they are not translated are:

Slovenian, Indonesian, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Turkish, Japanese and Greek

If you can translate one of these languages, please do so now! If you know who is the translator responsible for some of these languages, please call or tell him to complete the translation.

Very little translation work is necessary. At the moment it is only necessary to translate the base panels of the SME. There is no need to translate the console of the SME

There are still a few days to complete the translation work. If you want to help, you can do registering at Pootle and requesting access as language responsible translator as explained at http://wiki.contribs.org/Translations.

Please do not lose the opportunity to include these languages in the next release of SME 7.4

Hi All, we have only just opened Japanese on Pootle about  3 days ago. I have a team of students waiting to translate from this week onwards. It would be a shame to miss this opportunity as the Japanese market could be very big for SME. It will take some time to do everything but we have students who are willing to do it. It may only take 3 months but I think it will take about 6-8 as they have their school work to do!

thanks

Why the hurry,  Is there overhead in processing the pootle data, do you only want to release complete translations.

if it's overhead, then process the data less frequently
if you need fully complete sets only release those

Slovianian hasn't had any work done since the pootle system was introduced
Bulgarian, Turkish have not had much done, so there is an argument for these to be dropped or archived

Greek, Hungarian & Indonesian are coming along
and Japanese is only new, these should be kept

Some help please:

From /SME Server Panels/backup.po
Entry #142
"You must before execute Workstation backup configuration option"

What is the meaning of this phrase ?

Possibly:

Before executing Workstation back-up you must invoke the configuration option

or

Before invoking the configuration option you must execute a Workstation backup

Hello! Please don't remove hungarian translation yet! I've spent a lot of time for it! Now I'm hardly working on it to finish in time! About 1 week and the process is ended!

I think it may mean:

Before running a workstation backup you must configure the options.

Please advise the path location of the file and I'll take a further look at it.
Do you know where & when that phrase is used, so I can look at the meaning in context ?
Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.

Same over here.

The Greek translation is done.

Unfortunately, I suspect that the new(?) version was aired an hour ago.

My SME became English again after some months being partially Greek, partially English and I am currently trying to pinpoint the cause for which DNS resolving stopped altogether.

EDITED: It seems that the browser somehow turned into English locale, that's why I got back to English and DNS resolving started again after a reset.

Hi!

Now, hungarian translation of SME server panels are done, but how can i test my work? Is there any way to apply the localisation on a working system? What is the way to do it?  :?:

Thanks for the translations

May be you want to make your translations consistent. To acomplish this follow these instructions:
http://wiki.contribs.org/Translations#Checks_before_finish_your_work

For test the translations you can follow thiese:
http://wiki.contribs.org/Translations#Pootle_for_developers

So, you can make the new rpms, or wait for a developer who patched and create the new localization rpm.

When you see at http://translate.contribs.org/patches/ the file smeserver-locale-x.x.x-locale-xxxx-xx-xx.patch has 0 bytes, this mean the you have a new local rpm at smeupdates-testing repository.

Meanwhile you can test the currently locale rpms.

do:

Code: [Select]
yum update --enablerepo=smeupdates-testing smeserver-locale-*
Of course then do:
Code: [Select]
signal-event post-upgrade
signal-event reboot
