I'm trying to configure workstation backup my SME 7.5.1 to a simple NAS device. This NAS device can offer CIFS but unfortunate I cannot assign a username to this share, but only a password. So with a Windows XP machine I can access this share without username with only this password (so it uses a guest account).
However, when configuring workstation backup SME is not accepting an empty username on validating the backup location (Invalid Login). (Btw. Windows 7 is having the same behavior).
Does anyone now a workaround that a guest account is nevertheless accepted, e.g. by adapting a config file somewhere?
(no, there is no firmware update for this simple NAS to make is SME c.q. Windows 7 compliant
