Email from a cellphone
« on: July 12, 2002, 06:54:05 PM »
Hello,
I have an Ericsson T68 and I'm trying to enable it to check my email box. I've entered all the same settings that I find in my Eudora email program but when I try to connect it just searches, and searches, for the server. Take note that I am able to browse WAP websites with no problem, so my GPRS setup is not likely to be the problem.

Here are my settings:
Server: pop.702records.com
Protocol: POP3
Incoming Port: 110
Outgoing server: mail.greatbasin.net
Outgoing Port: 25

I'm really not sure if this is a problem with the config of email server or that of my phone.
Thanks in advance for any help.
- Pete

Note your SMTP (Outgoing) server is probably your ISP's, I doubt they will let you use it as a relay unless you are on their network, this may be your problem.

Have you made your email server available to public? You probably have a dynamic IP on your GPRS phone, and if they are set up Private, the phone wont be able to connect.
