No dialup to ISP to check mail in 4 beta
« on: April 05, 2000, 01:35:20 AM »
Hi There,

We have installed the beta on two boxes but they do not dial the ISP to retrieve mail at the scheduled times. Did we go wrong with the setup/install or is this a bug that can be fixed.

Thanks

I have no way of knowing without more information from you. Log into the server, Alt/F3 to get a login prompt, username root, admin password, and look at the file /var/log/messages. Look for any evidence there that dialup attempts are made look for any relevant error diagnostics.

I'm sorry, that doesn't tell me much - are you sure that there is no other sign of what the trouble is?
