As the "Subject Stated";Remote host said: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first
I've changed ISP's and now I have this,
Can't send or receive email.
ISP is Bell

it was working fine with my Rogers ISP.

Been searching the forums all night, if someone can assist that would be appreciated.

Well I've tried all.

I just think that Bell is blocking all SMTP Requests.

I've opened the following;
POP3 - port 110
IMAP - port 143
SMTP - port 25
HTTP - port 80
SecPOP3 - port 110
IMAP - port 143
SMTP - port 25
HTTP - port 80
Secure SMTP (SSMTP) - port 465
Secure IMAP (IMAP4-SSL) - port 585
IMAP4 over SSL (IMAPS) - port 993
Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) - port 995ure SMTP (SSMTP) - port 465
Secure IMAP (IMAP4-SSL) - port 585
IMAP4 over SSL (IMAPS) - port 993
Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) - port 995

Can someone verify In Canada, that the mail server works on Bell with the above.
I'm getting beat-up here bad.

with the changes below I'm not getting the ;

or any failures but then again I'm not receiving and or able to send e-mail

From a workstation behind your sme server gateway (on the LAN) go to grc.com and do a port scan to see what really is open.

Ok, this is what I'm getting now...
Incoming mail is fine, outgoing is still an issue but no error only after a week or so....

I've read something about chaining the location from 127.0.0.1 to Localhost in the file, but there is some contradiction as the notes say that this is to be fixed with ver 8.

If anyone knows that would be great.

BTW,
THis only happens in WEBMAIL and over my cellular, as outlook is linked to by-pass and connect to BELL's SMTP with my account information, but then again my account information is setup in server-manager.......

No, that's not relevant - or no longer relevant at least. gppti is posting about multiple issues, without starting a new thread.

This:

has nothing to do with STARTTLS. It's also very straighforward. There is an SMTPSmartHost configured, using authentication, and SME server wasn't able to establish a connection on port 25 to that server. Either the configured SmartHost isn't running a mail server and is black-holing traffic, or the ISP is filtering port 25 outbound traffic (and gppti is not trying to use the ISP's mail server, but is trying to use some other mail server).

gppti, you have to relay your outbound mail via a server which is accessible to you from your Internet connection. Check here - I think you should be using port 465, and server smtpa.bellnet.ca:

Webmail should be no different to any other method of sending mail.
