I just had 2 other questions,
I moved this topic into "general discussion" forum
as a rule: 1 question, 1 topic, thank you
does sme server support website hosting like cpanel and webmin and if possible assigning a different ip for each site?
SME server is aimed to work as a server for a Small Medium Enterprise.. in server and gateway mode, it supports only 1 public IP
SME can host as many as you want websites.. they will have all the same IP address, it's just a DNS (external and internal) matter
If not should I instal webmin or cpanel on the server?????
SME server doesn't support cpanel or webmin: don't try to install them on your server or you'll break it (search for webmin in the forums)
My second question is what is the difference between sme server and http://www.nethserver.org/
http://www.nethserver.org/nethserver_smeserver/
and wich one too choose?
Nethserver is a "cousin" of SME server.. it's actively developed by an italian firm (Nethesis.. Hi Filippo & Alessio

)
it's similar in some ways and very different in others.
Now, my questions:
- did you read SME's documentation/manuals? if not, please do.. you'll learn many things
- did you search in the wiki and in the forums before asking? if not, please do; during the years many question as already been asked and answered.
- you said you are looking for a "server" solution.. what do you need? something like a M$ SBS server? a web server? an hosting solution?
Finally, a suggestion: SME, like Nethserver, Zentyal and so on, is an highly integrated/customized linux distro.. it's not a plain centos or debian.. this approach gives to user a powerfull tool, ready for production in an "1,2,3" time.. but it has also some "limitations".. you have to adhere to some rules or you'll break it..
