Topic: Webmail addressbook- other apps

I use several different computers and frequently re-load operating systems and want to make my life easier. I use IMAP for email so all my mail is safe. My address book is another story. I'd like to use a centralized addressbook, like the webmail address book. I've considered setting up user account in SME and forwarding thier mail but that seems to be a potential for problems. Any ideas?

Actually, that would work fine....in the user configuration you have the option to deliver locally, forward, or both.  If you did both then that would be a problem as the mail would simply pile up on the E-Smith if you didn't set quota's.   What platform is running your mail now because E-Smith does POP or IMAP....ever though to just making the switch?  Your outlook express users would never know the difference.

Get an LDAP editor and add your entries to the LDAP addressbook on the server. I'm in the process of adding all the addresses we use company-wide so that they're available, and it keeps people from having local addressbooks with outdated information.

Ok, now that I've added a new user, the ones I added aren't there anymore. Perhaps it gets redone each time a user is added? I'm not sure, but they're gone. It may have had something to do with how I added them too...
