Windows XP "Everyone" shares giving "Access D

Using SME Server 5.5.  Have successfully added a Windows XP machine to the domain (applied registry change).  Valid domain user can log into the machine and the machine can see and access other computer's (on the domain) shares.  Other users can see this new XP computer's shares, but when they attempt to access them they get an "Access Denied" error.

The permissions on the XP machine for the shares are for "Everyone" for "Read Only".  I have tried setting them to "Full" as well with no success.

When attemting to add "Domain Users" to the list of valid permissions I get an error that it can't see the list of users (although I see each individual user in the same list that displays "Domain Users").  I was going to try to add "Domain Users" to the list of permissions, but this isn't possible.  I could add each user individually, but it's a pain if a new user is added to the domain.  Plus, I need the server to be able to see the machine and smbmount it (which it can't do either) so that I can backup data to the server.

Any ideas why this might be happening?  This is the first XP machine I've added to the network.  My Windows 95/98/2000 machines all work as I think they should.
