I have recently added a second sme to my site. I now have one system called e-smith-server2 (192.168.215.1 internally) (5.6b7) as server + gateway with dynamic IP updated through ZoneEdit. The other (e-smith-server, 192.168.215.3 internally) is configured as server only. Both systems have virtual domains and the e-smith-server2 hosts websites and email to the outside world.
e-smith-server2 also has websites but I now only want to use them on the intranet for development testing. If I access
http://192.168.215.3 I get the webpages from the primary however none of my primary or virtual domain names eg.
www.mydomain.org can be seen (the ibays are set up for access over the LAN). Just
http://e-smith-server does get me to the website strangely enough. I can ping from the W2K machine using FQDNs to e-smith-server2 but it cannot find e-smith-server. host returns 'not found: 3 (NXDOMAIN)'
I assume the local DNS cannot resolve the name but I have not idea how to change things. Iptables? I have added a host name into the hosts files but it does not seem to help anything.
