Hoow do I make both drives on a soft raid use PIO or DMA. My problem is one drive is PIO and the other is DMA

Hi,
You should use the hdparm command to enable DMA on both drives (see
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=7312.msg26712#msg26712
or man hdparm), make sure that both drives are configured as master (no slave devices such as IDE cd-roms etc if you have a PIO device on the same IDE channel it may force you hard drive to operate in PIO mode even if it is a DMA ready drive)
