Delegating AWStats to users
« on: August 12, 2003, 10:16:27 PM »
Hi,

I installed the latest (2.3.2-0) awstats package from neddix.de, and I can't find the option to delegate sites to users. I'm running SME6.0b3.

AWStats is working fine, and I can configure it, but I just get "There are no domains in the system delegated to..." when log into /user-manager with a user.

Also, my primary domain appears twice on the list of domains. Is that normal?

Thanks for your help.

Boris

I had the same experience with SME 5.6. After installing awstats 2.3.1, it was the option to delegate to the user. After updating to AWStats 2.3.2 this option is gone and new option to see who is delegated appears instead. Now I am back to AWStats 2.3.1.

admin can delegate domains to users
use the server manager

otherwise it needs another option to select users that can delegate

not sure how clear this will be
the server manger has an extra column  to delegate
currently the choices are
admin
everyone
or an individual

if your verson is different ... ?

I have SME version 5.6U4.
After updating awstats to version 2.3.1 I had link "modify" in the delegation column, where I can delegate view to the users.
After updating to awstats 2.3.2 column delgation is still present, but where is no modify option inside the column anymore.
If some domains were delegated to users it show who they are delegated to, but you can not change them or add new delegations to the rest of the domains.
I can send you some screenshots (via e-mail) if you'd like to look.
I have tried it on different servers with the same results.
Servers were SME 5.6U4, and I just confirm that on e-smith 5.1.2 it does the same thing.

going offlist
duplicate primary domains is due to sme6
i've replicated the missing link using sm6 but still see it with 5.5 ?

That was fast!!!
How about this to compare with "some commercial" development's bug fixes process?
Defaulting all the links to admin did it.
Thank you Stephen.
Boris.

Are where two relises 2.3.3 of awstats around?
One listed here (Aug 16) based on Awstats 5.6 with correction made to show delegate link. (http://www.neddix.de/)
Other, same version 2.3.3, (Aug 25) based on Awastats 5.7 with no link bug still present.(http://www.dungog.net/sme/files/awstats-sme-server/)

my fault
i sent neddix the fix but not till after they had released a later version

to use the 5.7 version i'm reasonably sure you just need to replace \etc\e-smith\web\functions\awstats
with dungog.net version
