Hmmm... it won't allow me to receive email except from the local network, any hints?

Double check the mx record at no-ip.com. It needs to
point to your server. And be sure that you have a
dynamic ip updater installed either on your client
or on the server. The ip needs to be updated.

your problem may be with your primary domain name.

(myesmithserver).

This needs to be a fully qualified domain name with a
.com, .org .net and so on. You should also
reserve a domain just to be sure that no one uses what
you are using. I took a look at the faq on no-ip.com.
You need to have a valid domain name in order
to use there system. So be sure to get one.

Keep in mind that you will need your registrar to assign the
following name servers to the domains dns service.
ns2.no-ip.com (64.156.198.160)
ns1.no-ip.com (216.66.37.10)
ns3.no-ip.com (64.156.198.151)
ns4.no-ip.com (64.39.31.103)
And it will take from 24 to 48 hours to
for the domain to become active on
the internet.
Once you reserve your name, enter that in your
no-ip.com settings ans opposed to myesmithserver

There's all kinds of regitrars like dotster.com

Look for low cost and quality service.
I would offer to set this up for you but I
am not set up to recieve payments over
the internet.
