I’m having what I hope is a easy-to-fix problem. I installed the webshare rpm and I thought that it would be a good idea if I could access it from my home (or other users) directory(s) also.
I’ve tried making an alias to the directory, which works. The problem is the permissions.
The webshare uses user:www and group:www so I added myself to the web group. Now I can add, modify, and delete files in the directory, but when I try to access them via the webshare there is an access problem. When I look the the permissions that I put there using windows, it has user and group “jim” is there a way to have people upload using samba and get user:theirname and group:www
