Thanks for the reply JB
What was the problem with the scripts? I thought it made things pretty easy, but you must have a reason for not liking them now because I know you created quite a few of them that I used in the past.
Is there a php-mcrypt rpm available for SME7?

One problem with the scripts are that there is really no easy transition from them. For example, in the horde scripts, I placed a lot of items in templates-custom, so when you upgrade, those templates-custom are not automatically removed and if you forget they are there, they will cause issues when the template is expanded. For my script, this is easily remedied by renaming templates-custom before you upgrade. This as also been stated in the fora many times for various other scripts. But, some of the scripts place files in the templates directory so then you have to really search them out. At least with an rpm, one can make the necessary changes, rebuild it, and redistribute without all the hassle. At least that is what I have experienced.
One saving grace is that the devs did try to accomodate and work around or through a lot of the add-on rpms so that a seemless upgrade to sme 7 would be attainable.
My 2 cents,
JB
