Then they should try to search first, or at least try to resolve the problem when it is quite simple to do so.
My answer pointed out how easy it was to find those "dead" links.

I disagree, it prompts them to look for themselves (as they could/should have done) and hopefully prompts other less experienced readers to also "look for themsleves".

First of all there was no criticism, and secondly I did in fact give a reasonably long & good answer to the questions posed by the poster. Certainly my answer was much longer than the short "how lazy are you" question. I consider that a reasonably good balance as far as my helpfulness to others is concerned.
If you don't like my style, sorry.
